Hello From The Creator: A Personal Introduction to The Creator's Corner
My Story, Inspiration, and Plans
Welcome to the first post of - The Creator's Newsletter!
To kick off this newsletter, I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself and my journey as a content creator.
In this newsletter, I'll be giving you an inside look into my motivation for creating content, my reasons for starting this newsletter, and how I plan to continue to grow and improve as a creator in 2023.
So, whom are we waiting for? Let’s dive in!
My Introduction
My name is Ayoosh Raj and I'm a content creator from India. I have a passion for writing, blogging, audience building, and digital creation.
Currently, I'm an undergraduate student, with plans to move to Silicon Valley in a few years to explore entrepreneurship and business building.
As a side hustle, I have started learning skills and exploring more about how the media and content industry works. And here I’m building an audience on Twitter, writing blog posts, and sending email newsletters.
Let’s start with my story…
What motivated me to start with content creation?
I've always had a love for writing and a desire to share my perspectives and experiences with others. In February 2022, I started a small niche blog with a friend where I helped him as a writer. This is what helped me to understand how articles were written and published on the Internet.
This is also when I discovered the Twitter audience-building creator community and started building a personal brand for myself.
I didn't have much experience with website creation, design, and optimization, so I began learning more about it, to become a full-time content creator one day (which is still my aspiration, haha).
So, I started a blog on a old domain I bought in 2021, and also started experimenting with different forms of content on various platforms like WordPress, Medium, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. I found that I enjoyed creating written content as-well-as, engaging with other creators on Twitter and learning from them.
So, I also started to gain knowledge on Twitter audience building slowly and steadily, with engaging and networking with big accounts and experts. And I must say, I love the Twitter community.
That’s what has made me persist to tweet, and engage every single day, publish articles weekly, and launch products.
What have I gained so far?
The niche site I started with my friend has a good number of page views and has also got accepted by Ezoic.
Grew my Twitter following from 0 to 200.
Gained experience by launching two digital product freebies on Gumroad, one on email marketing and the other on Twitter validation.
Had the opportunity to meet and learn from many amazing founders and business owners through calls and tweets in 2022.
Started my own blog, publishing content on it, and seeing organic traffic going up slowly.
Stated this newsletter to share my journey and share the lessons I learn in content creation. (A little nervous)
Why started this newsletter?
I wanted to find a way to connect with my audience in a more meaningful way, and I believe that newsletters are the perfect tool for that.
It allows me to share my personal learnings and experiences in content creation and provide valuable insights and tips to help my subscribers improve their own content creation skills. It also helps me to become more comfortable with writing, email marketing, and storytelling on a weekly basis.
There are many benefits to having a newsletter, such as:
Direct and personal connection with the audience
Increased reach and engagement
More control over design and layout
Targeted and personalized messages
Increased brand awareness and loyalty
Opportunities for monetization
Measurable results
Drive traffic to a website or other online platforms
Cost-effective marketing solution
Builds an email list of interested subscribers.
Let's see where I can go with this newsletter... (Curious)
Overall, my aspiration is not to take over the niche or something but to learn about how the internet and search engines work, how content is created and delivered, how it affects people and the economy, how to start a business remotely, how people can become producers from consumers, and more.
And I would love to share my journey of learning, creation, experimentation, experiences of success and failures, etc., with an audience who want to learn more about content creation, like me.
And who also wanna go through the BTS of a creator's life, who desires to be profitable with his work as a content creator, working remotely from a laptop and internet from India.
What Creative Streams do I Manage?
As a content creator, I always say that we need to be a jack-of-all-internet-trades.
This means that we need many skills to become a successful creators until we have a VC investor backing us on our creator journey, which allows us to delegate tasks to freelancers or employees. (not general)
And we learn all these skills for becoming a professional creator in a particular or a set of creative streams.
For example: Let's take podcasting. To become a podcaster, one should learn skills such as audio production, writing, storytelling, interviewing, marketing, podcast hosting, technical skills, networking, audience engagement, continual learning, and having a passion for the topic (and more with time).
So I'm also working on a set of skills to learn to manage my creative streams, that I'm currently passionate about, like:
Blogging - My Personal Blog
Twitter Audience Building - My Personal Twitter Account
Building my portfolio of Digital Products
Building an Email List - The Creator's Newsletter
Meeting & Engaging with other creators and industry experts.
These are the streams that I manage, currently.
Last but not least...
What are my Plans for 2023?
In 2023, I plan to continue to grow my audience, improve my skills and expand my creative streams to include video content creation in terms of reels, YT videos, or courses (not sure about that).
I also plan to offer paid services and products to help my audience achieve their goals faster, at a rate that could pay for the hard work I'm gonna do for them (just like most businesses do)
If I go more specific about my goals, then let me announce them here. After all, I'm here sharing insider access to my journey with you all.
The list goes as:
Write 200+ articles and cross 50k pageviews on my blog
Crossing 10k+ followers on my Twitter Account
Complete 5k subs on this Email Newsletter (Making this community bigger and better)
Launch 5 freebies and 2 Paid Digital Products this year
Plan to continue meeting and learning from industry leaders in 2023.
Read 1 book related to content creation/productivity every month
Write 10 guest posts on high DA websites, and backlink them with my blog.
Get profitable by the end of this year (the sooner the better)
Start video content this year (as an exploration and experiment of re-purposing content)
Start working on a SaaS product.
I know I'm a little ambitious with 2023, but it's just that I have set the bar high is a great way to challenge myself and strive for personal and professional growth.
That's a wrap!
Thanks for reading, and I'm looking forward to connect with you next Friday with tips and insights in content creation.
Raj
